Vorphals are waterborne race of aliens that want to kill all land dwellers.
They use special stones to planet-jump and spread water to other planets, flooding the worlds they inhabit. They come in thousand different shapes but mostly comprise of shell, tentacles, eyes and fins.. They can inhabit a human body for a short time period, but the humans get severely dehydrated. When they inhabit the body the can shape change it. Vorphals can adjust their size shape and color.

The only problem Vorphals have, is a race of people that are clearly their nemesis. The same Race that Shogan is a half breed of...The Anunakians....They are a fire born race. Dragons. The Vorphals want to populate the Anunakians' worlds. They cant...They have tried and are defeated each time. They are weak physically compared to the Anunakians...
They hope to hone Shogan as a weapon they can use to kill off many Anunakians before they invade. They're hiding out on Earth secretly training Shogan with the help of Kojiki.
Basically this is what the whole story is about. Shogan being honed in to a Killing machine. He later transforms into a Dragon Humanoid and then later into a even larger Dragon.
