I'll keep an open mind about it until it's out a year from now, December 18, 2015. Looks pretty cool from what little was seen. I'm not digging the Sith lightsabre with the cross-guard sabres. That would seriously restrict wrist movement in a fight. LOL, you could cut your own hand off. It may look cool, somewhat, but it makes little to no practical sense.
I'm curious to see the older, original characters in future trailers, promos.

I'm going to see it cause I'm a big time Star Wars fan and so far it's looking cool. That new saber doesn't look practical but I'll wait to see how it works in action. I actually don't want much from the older characters and hope the movie is more on the new ones to help build a long franchise.

Another teaser released today.
I like the scene with the old Star Destroyer and seeing Han Solo. Looks good thus far.

I just watched all or the star wars movies for the first time last year. I'm sure just like my coworker that let me barrow them you will all be appalled to know that. The new one looks pretty cool I guess but we will have to see. The new main bad guy looks pretty cool.

Many of my co-workers are in their twenties and aren't too familiar with the franchise. Most fans I've found come from the 1977-1983 movies, so most of us are older. I don't think the 1999-2005 movies drew in too many new fans. I'm optimistic about the new movies.

Yeah the only one of the newer movies was the 3rd one. It was cool to see how anikin truly lost his mind. I read that the new one will include the death star in some way.

So it's been out for a few weeks? What did you think? I loved it. Watched it twice. I can't wait for VIII. I've seen it twice as well. Overall I really liked it but found many flaws. My ten-year-old inner self loved it for the return of the classic Star Wars vibe and returning characters but my forty-two-year old self was baffled with many of the events and actions taken. It had the best feel for the Star Wars universe I grew up with since Return of the Jedi. I agree with the critique that it was too close to the story of A New Hope. Rey- generally liked her, but thought she should have suffered a bit more. The idea she got the Force so quickly made no sense, or at least yet. Luke Skywalker took three movies to master his skills and that's with training. Finn- I liked him a lot as well. His history as a Stormtrooper was interesting. Poe- No issues, good character thus far. Han Solo- it was great to see him again. He was the same Han Solo as in the older movies but I wondered why he was still a smuggler after all these years. I was a little shocked with his death even thought I basically knew it was going to happen. Chewbacca- I was never a big Chewwie fan but I really liked him here. General Leia- Even thought she didn't do too much I liked her more now than in the original trilogy. BB-8- was cool and used well. Kylo Ren- I didn't like him the first time I watched the movie but he grew on me. I'm interested in seeing how he develops. General Hux- Overall okay. A little too Space Nazi for me but that's what the First Order is designed from. Captain Phasma- My favorite character even though she got totally owned in this movie. I just hope they don't overdo her in the next movie to over confiscate for how badly she played here. Snoke- An interesting character to say the least. I liked the look of the new Stormtroopers and the First Order but hated that they all got beaten so badly and used the same Death Star/Star Killer concept for the third time. I get the impression that in VIII that the First Order has to kick some ass to be a real threat. I wish they would have added another half-hour or so to explain more things in a better way. I look forward to VIII, May 2017. They got the vibe right and a cool cast of characters but things have to make more sense. I hope they take some risks with the next movie, more original ideas.

Did you think Rey is Luke's daughter?
LOL, I'm not surprised you liked Phasma.

Did you think Rey is Luke's daughter? LOL, I'm not surprised you liked Phasma. I hope not but she probably will be Luke's daughter. I think it would give the character, Rey, an added strength if she was just a new Force holder without the family lineage. Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Mace Windu didn't get Force powers from their families. Yeah, I'm betting big on Phasma in Episode VIII and hopefully Episode IX. Gwendoline Christie is too good to waste. Looks as if we'll have to wait a little longer, December 15, 2017, for Episode VIII. It makes sense with the Christmas holiday and hopefully will give the team more time to fix some of the rightful critiques many fans have voiced about VII. I would suspect we'll get some trailer to VIII by this year's end.
