Great style, more on the traditional cartoon style here. I assume there is a daily theme to draw from in your Inktober challenge?
BTW, how are you liking your markers?

No daily theme just a single word. For example "enchanted" (above) so I drew a scene from The Sword in the Stone. I really like using these markers. I will have to eventually get a more quality set with blenders and the like, but I the ones I have now are fine.

Thought I'd post my first foray into pastels. It's a work in progress, but it's coming together pretty well I suppose. These things are a lot of fun. Easy to blend and fix mistakes.

Wow, very cool! Did you get a set of pastels?
I always mean to try pastels but never get around to buying them. I would love to use them to enhance my background work.
Keep them flowing man! Have you done any marker or pencil pieces recently, if I may ask?

Thanks dude! Yeah, I got a really nice set for Christmas and I've been watching the original TMNT movies on netflix. That is how ol' Donnie here came to be. I would recommend them for sure.
I have some anatomy work and stuff in pencil but nothing of major note. I'm kinda trying to rebuild my anatomy knowledge (especially female) from the ground up before I start diving headlong into character design again.

I'm kinda trying to rebuild my anatomy knowledge (especially female) from the ground up before I start diving headlong into character design again. I'll have to look into pastels. When I met Jeff3333 a few years ago I was blow away by his use of pastels with his art. Anatomy is such an important part in drawing any living thing. For years my anatomy work on my characters was very wonky, with smaller heads compared to the body proportions. Looking at my first decade on DA (and here) most of my work suffered from that issue. Most professional artist I know get good by drawing all the time, even if it were just simple sketches. That's why I try to at least sketch ideas on paper near daily. Even my note pads have heads drawn on them. Overall your work is fine it may just need to be (as with me) refined over time with practice. Females are basically softer tones, generally 7/8's scale of a dude and the breast and hips. Female hair lines are slightly closer to the face than dudes with more prominent eyes. When I draw a female the eyes are the most important part and the first part I draw. They aren't really hard and there are tricks with it all. If I can be of any help please let me know.

Really cool use of Pastels - I can never really get the hang of them (I just use them for lazy backgrounds and dust storms etc) and so I'm always impressed by those that can get such detail and form out of them. What sort of size is this piece?

Absolutely and it's really not a big step for me to re-learn female anatomy cause if you look at my past work I never really knew it that well to begin with . Thanks for the tips! Hey Jeff! Good to see ya still around, man. I appreciate the kind words. This piece is about the size of a match head...hahaha just kidding. It's on 12x9 inch sketchpad paper. I really have no clue what I'm doing. Just kinda winging it and having fun.

Here is the finished product. The picture quality could be better, but until I can seal it and scan it this will have to do.

Wow, this turned out great! I get the vibe you really like pastels.
May I ask what type of art pad, paper do you use? I'm always curious to know what other artist use in their pieces.

I appreciate the kind words, dude! Yeah I'm pretty happy with the end result. I will most certainly be doing more pastel work. It was done on 75LB, acid free, lignin free. At least that's what my sketchpad says. Not sure what any of that means nor did I buy the pad because of those attributes. Good paper, though.
