I go for my first belt test next week. Should do good, most of the other students are out of shape. Half my class is just cardio and sparring. Good luck to you I hope your not so hopeless to make the next step of a white belt. ;D Just kidding I'm sure you've got what it takes.

My next test will be for a green belt, hopefully I will be able to go for that by June. I'm going on vacation in May and may not be able to take that test on schedule We do a lot of sparring, holds and takedowns moves now. A lot of the workout really makes me sore the next morning but I've gotten stronger and my stamina during sparring has improved greatly. I have busted my toes a few times during the sparring and jammed my index finger but it's all for the good.

When I studies Hapkido it went white>yellow>orange>green>blue>purple>brown>red>black>black degrees...or something like that.

Strange thing is some schools have the orange belt. I got my butt handed to me during sparring this past week by some guy, a red belt. I am so going to kick this guys butt. Some people in my class are just too aggessive.

I remember when I took Hapkido years ago our class was made up of about 50% dudes who were construction workers. They were all cool and very funny. I remember one guy who was kinda a hippie construction worker, cool guy, who got more and more aggressive and into the sparring and holds. One day he was kicking some bag and a huge piece of his toe came off form the intensity of the kick, he was kind of a small guy too. He just kept kick the bag, yelling, in some trance. I thought at the time he was on PCP. The mat got all bloody and the master had to calm him down. The look on the master's face was priceless, I had the hardest time not busting out in laughter. This dude lost his tone-nail and a chunk of toe.
