BG- what was the name of that pad of paper you draw on? I was buying paper yesterday at my local Michael's and was looking for it. Just curious, thanks! Funny you should mention that cause with my last two pics I just started on another spiral artbook. The last two I have been using are Mead Acid-free, Lignin-free, Heavyweight, Archival quaility, 70 sheet, and 8 1/2 11 size paper. I forgot where I got them but I remember they were cheaper than the others at like Wal-Mart or Target, I will look out for two more if the price is right. I did change my inking pens to Uni Ball Vision Exact micro .005 which were pretty much the same as I was using for my other pieces.

Does anyone have a recommendation for any art pads that work well with watercolors? I have thought about doing some watercolor backgrounds for some of my pieces.

I have a Wacom Bamboo, the larger one. Works fair, probably the best for the price. Has fair sensitivity, the higher end ones have much better sensitivity. Been meaning to use mine more. I've been curious what the Ipad is like as a drawing tablet.

Sorry for the late reply. yeah, would deffiantly go with a wacom. They can get expensive. They are becoming more expensive than a computer. I think the larger bamboo are 150, while the good models are like 400+. For software you use just photoshop? You ever use Corel Painter. You mentioned watercolor backgrounds. Painter seems to be the better program for watercolor looks. I have Corel Essential, fun to mess around with. The Essential version has the core tools ones needs and the full program doesn't seem to offer enough for me to upgrade. I like the way Painter is setup for just drawing as compared to Photoshop. Photoshop is better setup for editing.

I use photoshop for all my painting. You just have to play with the brush settings and make your own brushes. Corel painter X bogs my computer down, but i love it! painter is fun as well... Corel Photo-paint i liked. I remember using photostyler before photoshop came out, hehe. im old.
Anyone want my photoshop brushes, i can email them to you, fun to play with.

I've thought about getting a new version like CS5 but still can't justify the expense.

Bayushi, how's the markers holding up? Surprisingly good for the ones I can find, it's funny how you use these things over and over and now when I need a certain color I can't find it. I do need to buy a new black marker cause mine has just about dried out and I'm not trying to pay 5 bucks for one at Michaels.

I tend to only pick up paper there and that is with a coupon. I buy all my markers though DickBlick. I just buy the markers I need or am curious to have.

Bayushi, are your markers still functional? I know they are several years old.

Bayushi, are your markers still functional? I know they are several years old. I used them earlier this year and most were still good and I remember only having to buy a black marker. I'm hopeful of doing an art piece or two before the year ends since my interest is kinda back again.
