I just use markers. I use an assortment of Prismacolor, Neopiko, Fibracolor, and some old Pentel markers.

Do you outline it first in black then color it in, or color first?

I outline it first. I usually draw the character or scene with a hard lead pencil first. Look it over for mistakes. Then redraw it with either with a .20mm(0.05) or .25mm(0.1) line width Micron or Copic art pen. Then I just erase the pencil lines and color it.

I use to do some drawing back in the day but I could never figure out how to color them right.

Not until recently did I use color on a consistant basis. I'm glad I did though. If you ever start drawing again please let me know. When I get more of the story moving I may need more characters. I always have a list of positions that need filling. Sometime within the next few months I may put up a character submission outline and postions needed. BTW, most of my current characters started out only pencil.

That sounds like a great idea, I might send you something if I can find anything worthy for the site.

I'll write up a submission guideline and post it on the Commando Massacres Series section soon. That will generally have what I think would fit well in the story and so on. Creatively I would like to get new characters from another source occasionally. They don't have to be artistic masterpieces either, I'd perfer not anyway. It's easier for me to update a more simple designed character than a flawless one.

Hey Jnight me and my cousin and his nephew went today to the art store to pick up some markers for the hell of it, after showing them your site and pics they liked it and are inspired to draw and COLOR there pics now. Hopefully in the future we just might have something to contribute, but I think that are going their own way in art especially his nephew who is 13 and loves to draw. We'll see what comes up from them?

WOW! That very cool! I'm glad they liked the site. I wish them well on their artwork. BTW, thirteen is a great age for drawing, that's how old I was when I originally created the Commando Massacre series .

Hey Jnight what brand markers do you recommend for the lighter colors especially flesh, grey, and silver?

I'd recommend Deleter Neopiko markers (if you can find them) or Prismacolor markers. The Deleter markers have a special set just for skin tones and have a wide assortment of greys. I've found it hard to find these though. The Prismacolor markers are generally easier to find and work good with a little practice. Alot of my artwork is done with these markers. They too have a large assortment of light greys.

Yeah I'll shop around Ebay for a decent price on Ebay for a Prisma Maker set. Which set do you recommend? Would a 20 plus set due or more would be better?

One of the 20 sets of Prismacolor is a good buy but they can be pricey. When I started to use color on a regular basis I bought a $20 set of these Fibracolor markers. You get 100 markers of every general color. Here is what they look like: www.misterart.com/store/view.cfm?group_id=8980450&store=001&AID=10273655&PID=1368627 . Most art stores I come across have them. I'd say there good to get started, I still use them regularly. I've always bought the Primsmacolors a few at a time. These markers work better on thicker bond paper. The only major criticism about markers in general is that they bleed, fade, and are sticky. I've had some very minor bleeding with the Prismacolor but neither are sticky and they haven't every faded to date. The great thing about Prismacolor markers is that they come in at least 144 colors and have both a fine and broad points. They may be a little tricky to get use to but they are worth it in the long run. These are just the markers I have used, there are many others out there, Copic makes a good refillable marker too. Sorry for the long winded responce, just trying to give you the best information I can.
