Love that second cover that is a classic Ninja picture. How much are you spending on these magazines each? I would problaby jump on in this with you if I had some income coming in but it will have to wait for now. They have averaged about $5-$10 each. I've seen a few issue go for over $20, not counting shipping. I want a good collection but I'm not a completest. I have an issue from each year from 1984-1992, with exception of 1991. The covers are a draw. The articles are pretty good for reference and artistic poses. I get a good laugh too out of some of the stuff in there. I can't justify some of the lofter prices. The big lots have gone of some high prices as well, many of which have been turned around sold individually.

I think you tayloring a character to look like Stephen K. Hayes is a must cause of the all his Ninja work in the 80's and 90's. The only problem is his look is so seventies. ;D

I like that action cover, I hope you have gotten some magazine bags to store your magazines in? I use to buy them for mags that I collected which were any covers that Cindy Crawford were on back in the 90's and I still will pick one up whenever she is still on a cover, well her and Carmen Electra speaking of which I just got a mag of American Curves with her on the cover.

I have a few in bags, but need more. Beirne Lowry, the cover artist, did some excellent covers over the years. I have to contact him someday.

WOW. thats cool. i guess now you dont have to buy any more. how much did all of this run you? A Ben Franklin! Yeah, I have about 60 in total, counting duplicate mags. I may still pic up a few if the price is right, but this lot had everything I needed. This lot was in very good condition for their age. The only drawback was that the original owner had pulled out the posters at one time and pinholes were in them. The posters where back in the mags, but loose. No real biggy though.

So that is the guy huh, wonder if he still does any art? I'll bet a painting of the original cover if they were paintings go for alot of cash. I have a Ninja mag in which they are selling some of the original paintings that made the covers, so they are probably long gone. I've searched for Beirne Lowry but haven't seen anything else from him. Toward the end of the magazine's rule, around 1992-1993 they began to re-run his covers. I'm curious to know how large these paintings were. A Ben Franklin! Yeah, I have about 60 in total, counting duplicate mags. I may still pic up a few if the price is right, but this lot had everything I needed. This lot was in very good condition for their age. I actually met the orginal owner, he lived within 40 miles and we decided to meet and eliminate the risk of damaging the mags in the mail. I appreciated that a lot. I'm still surprised at how much they cost back in '84-'95. I have to say they don't cover ninjustsu nowhere as well as Inside Kung Fu and Black Belt of that era.

Hey! I painted those covers in the late 80's thru the early 90's. It was fun and interesting work. I actually suggested they do a Ninja Magazine, since Condor was publishing american Karate and Warriors magazine. Then the Ninja craze took off! And my pal Michael Dooney went on to do TNMT. I still have most of the original art...some I gave to the real martial artists that posed for me in the paintings.

Wow if this is really the artist that did all those covers then I have to tell you that your art was one of my top 5 reasons for being a Ninja fanatic, for me a picture is worth a thousand words and when I saw your pics they just put me in a dream state and helped feed the fire I have in my soul for Ninjas in general. I hope you will post more than just once and maybe give us some proof that you really are the artist that did all those covers. Do you have a website?

I really like your work on those Ninja magazine covers. I know many people back in the late-80's who bought the magazine, alot from your amazing covers. May I ask, what size are these paintings? They certainly are creative pieces and inspired the imaginations of many. I'm glad Condor took your suggestion, Ninja magazine had a pretty good run.
