Let's Draw Manga Ninja & Samurai is indeed a good book, much better than I though it would be when I picked it up a few months ago. My artstyle really isn't manga but the information is excellent. It's very cool you got it. I did base one of my Valerie Fox pieces (the one with the kamanunchuck) on one of the illustrations. It's a good resource book if you draw in this genre. Quite frankly I found the information in this book more useful than some of my old Stephen K. Hayes and Stephen Turnbull books, well maybe not the latter. You said you picked up some fine art pens, what kind?

Just 2 Sakura Microperm O1 tips and a couple of flesh colored Prismacolor markers, but I think I made a mistake to buy regular peach for flesh tones? Oh well

Oh well Those Sakura Micros 01 tips are really good, probably one of the pens I use the most. As for the regular peach, I've gotten several colors I thought I'd never use but later really came to use well. One of my habits if I buy a marker from a local retailer is to open the marker up and make a small mark on the price code tag. Some stores even have a paper strip to test out the marker colors.

Jnight you said that you colored Demon Keyoto with Prismacolor Bronze? I didn't find it in my 144 set, are you sure about that?

Never mind I found it, couldn't find it all night yesterday. I guess there are just too many markers! ;D Cool , nice problem to have my friend, too many markers . My pieces with Demon Keyoto I use Prismacolor Bronze, Scarlet Lake, and French Grey 70%(gloves), Cool Grey 30% (his symbols) and Eggshell (skin tone). I was looking at markers earlier today at a local retailer and have noticed that the newer Prismacolors have slightly wider fine end tips than before. I think this will help extend the life of these markers. Did your marker set have the really fine tips or a slightly wider fine tip?

My 144 set comes with the pointed longer tips while the 48 set came with shorter thinner tips. I do prefer the longer tips but as you said the thinner tips are made to last longer. We'll see how they compare, hopefully awhile. I'm done with the Keyoto pic and will send it soon.

I know I mentioned this in a PM but I was wondering if you ever used real pictures as an art reference? I have just been learning to do and found a cheap martial arts book at Walden books which supplies me with alot of great poses.
