I know I mentioned this in a PM but I was wondering if you ever used real pictures as an art reference? I have just been learning to do and found a cheap martial arts book at Walden books which supplies me with alot of great poses. Yes, I use real pictures as a reference frequently. I usually won't actually copy the pose but use it for inspiration. Those martial arts books are great for this. My subscription to a few martial arts magazines are my tool for this as well. They sure beat posing in front of a mirror !

Bayushi Gemma, how is your 144 set Prismacolor markers working out thus far? I really haven't taken atvantage of them yet but I did use the 80 pecent warm grey on weapons and belts which is why you can see some black detailing in them. Give me time I didn't spend all that money for nothing.

Bayushi Gemma, I've always been curious, what type of paint do you use on you customs? When I first started I used Testors Gloss and Flat but since then it's been mostly Citadel Colour brand and some no name stuff that I bought at my local Role Playing store(Dream Wizards) recommended by a worker there.

I have an art question for you. As an artist which part of a character do you have any troubles with, if any and where on the character do you start? Just curious.
For me I always start drawing the character's head. If I can draw the eyes and face correctly the rest is a piece of cake.

Actually the head is the easiest part for me sometimes the legs are a big problem for me other times it's the hands. On a rare occasion though some pieces just flow out on the paper with ease, I yearn for those pieces! ;D

What colors do you find best to use as gold Jnight? Very strange you bring that up. I have been having some trouble trying to find a gold color marker for Pirulaso's latest submission. I have a Fibracolor (cheap) gold marker that is okay and Prismacolor's Bronze is somewhat close but I am now looking into getting some Pantone Tria markers. They are a little more pricey than Prismacolors but the few I have are excellent, they have 298 colors. Prismacolor has a gold metallic but I never liked the results too much. If I can find a good gold color I'll let you know.

BG, how is your 144 Prismacolor set holding up? Any markers dry-up yet? I haven't really used much from that set except for the cool greys, warm greys, and the bronze. I guess I've been doing too many remakes lately? I'm sure not getting my moneys worth out it yet?

Well maybe you could create some characters from the colors of Magenta, Chartreuse, Burnt Ochre, and Salmon Pink . Seriously, I've found backgrounds tend to bring the usefulness of these colors out. Also non-Ninja characrters do well with these lessor used colors to. I can't tell you how much I love J.C. Fox for using those Purplish/Lavender colors. BTW, I've had some trouble with markers that dry up, especially on the fine nib ends.

I'm curious BG, what part of drawing your artpieces takes you the longest, the penciling, the inking, or the coloring? For me I guess it's the penciling, I always have to stop and look the piece over several times before I go threw with the inking.
